Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Whistle Video Drones!
Next year is set to be an exciting one for Whistle Video. We are officially launching Whistle Video Drones. The end 2016 saw Joe become a qualified drone pilot so he can legally fly drones commercially.
What is a Drone?
A drone, or a UAV, is an 'Unmanned Aerial Vehicle'. Put simple, it's a flying vehicle that is controlled remotely by a pilot on the ground. Over the past couple of years drones have really 'taken off'... sorry. But it's true. It's easy to see why. Drones enable you to capture jaw dropping footage that used to only be seen in big Hollywood blockbusters. Clients are now asking us a lot more if we offer aerial videogrpahy and photography and we don't like to disappoint. This is the main reason we are now offering a drone service.
There are a mass number of drones available out there that offer a whole spectrum of variety. From the trusty entry level Phantom to the top end DJI DJI S900. Our weapon of choice was the Inspire 1 V2. The Inspire is beautiful in so many ways. The X3 camera shoots in 4k video giving you some truly amazing footage. This paired up with the fact it can travel at over 40mph was a big selling point!
CAA
With the demand for drone operators increasing over the last couple of years there have been a lot more people taking to the skies. Though this is a great thing, there are a lot of potential hazards when flying and this is why it is mandatory to take a course to make sure you are eligible to fly a drone commercially - something to bear in mind when going with a drone company. We are approved by the CAA to fly our drone so you are in safe hands.
